HOW TO REACH
Dhamma Giri is situated in the town of Igatpuri which is about 137 km from Mumbai on the Mumbai -Nasik Central Railway route. From Igatpuri station, taxis and three- wheel taxis(autos) are available for Dhamma Giri. It would take about 10-15 minutes to walk from the station.

How to Reach
1. Airport Road Metro Station
I. Board Metro Line 1 at Airport Road and head towards DN Nagar.
II. Change to Metro Line 2A (Yellow Line) at DN Nagar and travel towards Borivali West Metro Station.
III. Once at Borivali West, take an auto-rickshaw to Gorai Creek (about 2 km).
IV. Gorai Creek, take a ferry to either Gorai Village Jetty (?15) or Esselworld Jetty (?100 for a round trip). After that, follow directions to the Pagoda (500 m from Esselworld Jetty, or take an auto from Gorai Village Jetty).
2. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport
I. Take a taxi/auto to Western Express Highway Metro Station and board Metro Line 7 (Red Line) towards Dahisar.
II. Borivali West Metro Station, follow the same steps as above: take an auto to Gorai Creek, and continue via ferry.
3. Road from Mumbai or Thane
I. Use the Western Express Highway, go north towards Dahisar, and turn left at the Mira-Bhayandar crossing (Shivaji Maharaj statue).

SERVING BETWEEN THE COURSES (DHAMMA SEVA PERIOD)
It is a time when center prepares to welcome new students of the next course. There are a variety of things to be done during this time to set up for the next course. Most importantly, it is a nice time to be at the center, meeting other meditators and reinvigorate your practice. It’s a great way to get to know the center & to give service in a low key way that supports strengthening your practice.

ARUNACHAL PRADESH PERMITS
- Indian Nationals (Inner Line Permit) as well as Foreigners travelling to Arunachal Pradesh need a permit (PAP- Protected Area Permit) to travel and enter the state.
- Indian tourists need an Inner Line Permit (ILP). This is available from any Government of Arunachal Pradesh office or by applying online at http://arunachalilp.com/ this website. You can also download an application form here. In addition, ILP Facilitation Centers were opened at Guwahati, Naharlagun and Gumto railway stations in March 2015. These centers issue ILPs on arrival.
- According to a further government directive issued in 2014, single foreign tourists can now obtain PAPs to visit Tawang, Bomdila and Ziro. PAPs are available for a duration of 30 days (extensions are not possible) and cost $50 per person. In reality, the easiest way of getting the PAP is though a travel agent. It will take a couple of days to be issued.
- If you want to travel independently and do it yourself, the best places are the Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Resident Commissioner’s Office in Kolkata or Guwahati. These are the only two places that have authority to issue PAPs to independent foreign tourists and single tourists. In Guwahati, the office is located on G.S. Road. Applications can be submitted Monday to Friday, up until 2 p.m. Processing time is two to five working days.
HOW TO REACH
Center is located in Mudoi. Mudoi is a Village in Diyum Tehsil in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh State. Dhamma Aruna can be reached either by air or rail and road.
Air
One could take a flight for Dibrugarh, Assam and then by road to Mudoi, Changlang. It takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours travel time to reach center from Dibrugarh, depending on traffic and weather conditions. The distance from Dibrugarh to Dhamma Aruna centre is 138 kms.
ROAD AND TRAIN
Alternatively one can take a bus or train to reach New TinSukhia, and from New TinSukhia one can travel by road to Dhamma Aruna. It may take 30 minutes lesser time to travel from New Tinsukhia to Mudoi compared to travelling from Dibrugarh, from New Tinsukhia to Mudoi bus fare may approximately costs around Rs.80/- and Taxi may approximately costs around Rs.2500/-. The distance from New Tinsukhia to Dhamma Aruna centre is 89 kms.

HOW TO REACH
Train
The nearest Railway station is at Gaya Junction, which lies on several routes between important cities. For train timetables log on to http://www.indianrail.gov.in , click on "train between important stations". For return journeys, there is an Indian Railway booking kiosk at Bodh Gaya which opens daily (perhaps with the exception of Sundays) from early morning till 2 PM.
From Gaya
Dhamma Bodhi Vipassana center is situated on Gaya-Dobhi Road, near the Magadha University, at Bodhgaya; Approx. 15 Km from Gaya. From Gaya (Railway Station), the center can be reached either by taxi or a scooter-rickshaw. A taxi to Bodhgaya should cost approx. Rs. 700/-, or a Scooter rickshaw about Rs.250/-, depending on the time of day. We do not recommend this journey be done during the late hours of the night; there is a newly refurbished waiting room at platform number-1 at the Gaya railway station where time can be spent till morning.
From Bodh Gaya
Distance from Bodhgaya center to the Vipassana center is a few kilometers, and there are plenty of taxis, cycle-rickshaws, and auto-rickshaws available (at approximately Rs.100/- per journey and less for shared "cabs").
Air
- The Gaya airport now receives local flights from major Indian cities including New Delhi and Varanasi. This airport lies on the road between Gaya and Bodh Gaya. A journey from the airport to Dhamma Bodhi should be approximately 15 minutes by taxi. A taxi to the centre from the Gaya airport should cost approx. Rs. 700/-, or a Scooter rickshaw about Rs.250/-, depending on the time of day. The Gaya airport also receives direct flights from Sri Lanka and Thailand.
- The other airport is at Patna (112 km from Bodhgaya). There are several direct flights daily from Delhi and Kolkata. A taxi journey from Patna to Bodhgaya should cost approx. Rs. 2500/-, and should take around three hours.
Road
The nearest road public transport hub is Gaya ( a major point on the historical Grand Trunk Road). There are regular direct bus services to Patna, Nalanda, Rajgir and Varanasi. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation run buses on the Patna-Bodhgaya route twice a day.
PRIVATE TAXI
Visitors to Dhamma Bodhi often use the services of private taxi operators like Ola Cabs or others, for which information is readily available on the internet, to arrange for Taxi Services between Patna airport/railway station and Dhamma Bodhi (Please note: Dhamma Bodhi is in no way liable for their services or actions). Typical one way charges to Dhamma Bodhi are approximately: from Patna, Rs.2500/-; from Gaya railway station, Rs.700/-.

The accommodation options at Vipassana Meditation Centres include individual single-occupancy rooms and dormitory-style rooms. COURSES INSTRUCTIONS
- Special 10-day Courses are open only to serious Old Students committed to this technique who have completed a minimum of five 10-day courses, given Dhamma Service at least one 10-day course, and have been practicing regularly for at least two years.
- 20-day Courses are open only to serious Old Students committed to this technique who have completed a minimum of five 10-day courses , one Satipatthana Sutta course, given Dhamma Service at least one 10-day course, and have been practicing regularly for at least two years.
- 30-day Courses are open only to serious Old Students committed to this technique who have completed a minimum of six 10-day courses (one since their first 20-day course), one 20-day course, one Satipatthana Sutta course, and have been practicing regularly for at least two years.
- 45-day Courses are open only to persons involved in Dhamma Service and Assistant Teachers who have completed a minimum of seven 10-day courses (one since their first 30-day course), two 30-day courses, one Satipatthana Sutta course, and have been practicing regularly for at least three years.
60-day Courses are reserved for
- Active ATs who have sat at least two 45-day courses and conduct at least four 10-day courses annually.
- Those who are enrolled in or about to enter AT Training, have sat two 45-day courses, have served at least four 10-day courses in the past 12 months and/or are deeply involved in daily Dhamma service.
- In some areas, non-ATs may be accepted as rare exceptions if they have completed at least two 45-day courses, served at least four 10-day courses annually and/or are deeply involved in daily Dhamma service.
Teacher's Self-Course-TSC (Gratitude Course) Each year Principal Teachers S N Goenka and Mrs Goenka (Mataji) sat their own course in India. This was traditionally called the Teacher's Self Course (TSC). Now some centres are organizing commemorative courses with this or other names.
